“People fear their bodies. They do not know what wealth of pleasure it contains. They do not know that all their potential for love is in the body. It is not in the mind. The mind does not know what love is, so it always seeks it. That’s why – love yourself. If you live in harmony with your body, your mind cannot disturb you; there is only love, there is no division, all is one, all is whole.” – Ra Uru Hu
How often do you consciously feel yourself in your body?
Today, I would like to share my thoughts with you on the importance of being aware of oneself in the body and how massage contributes to this process.
Being aware of oneself in the body means having a deep understanding of one’s physical condition, sensations, emotions, and needs. Too often, we distract ourselves from our bodies in the fast and stressful pace of modern life. We forget to take care of our physical and emotional needs, and as a result, we lose harmony with ourselves.
Massage is one of the most effective ways to return to awareness of your body. When the hands of a master touch your body, you immerse yourself in a state of deep relaxation and begin to pay attention to your physical sensations and your breath. Following the hands of the master, you discover areas of tension in your body, release them with your breath, and free your body. You allow yourself to see and experience the emotions that are stuck in the body, to laugh or cry.
When we are in a state of relaxation and focus on physical sensations, we become more present in the moment and connect with our inner self, helping us see reality as it is, without distortions of the ego.
It is important to note that awareness of oneself in the body and massage are processes that require time and regularity. Regular massage sessions can be an excellent practice of care and attention to your body.
